Late to Join September Courses? No, You Still Have Chances!

This is weekly news regarding UK University News by UKEC. This week's news aims to give information about Clearing for September 2021 intake.

Hi UKEC folks,


For those who already received offers from universities that you’ve wanted to join, congratulations!

Also, for those of who you already received offers and started preparation, please check out Pre-Departure Sessions run by The British Council. 

They are running two final Pre-Departure Sessions for international students travelling to the UK. These will take place on the 18th of August at 09:00 – 19:00 and 17:00 – 18:00 British Summer Time. Students/counsellors are welcome to sign up at here.


However, if you haven’t received any offers from where you wanted, you shouldn't be disappointed yet either. 

Clearing is your opportunity to secure a place at UK universities this September. 

Whether you have changed your mind, grades were higher or lower than expected, or maybe you always intended apply through Clearing.

 <University of Edinburgh>


The University of Edinburgh is not directly accepting new applications for undergraduate programmes. 

Any courses that will be open for Clearing will appear on UCAS, which has the only official vacancy list.

It currently takes 10 business working days for them to process valid CAS requests. 


<City, University of London>


Clearing is now open at City, University of London with places available across a range of courses. 

On Tuesday 10th of August, a Clearing webform will be available on their website and on the course pages.

Please note that due to high volume of applications, response to students may be delayed during this period.


<UWE Bristol>


UWE Bristol is also into the Clearing period for 2021 entry. 

In order to join, you should call UWE Bristol clearing hotline in the first instance to discuss your grades and be made an offer over the telephone. 

The phone line will be open on Tuesday 10 August from 8:30 until 17:00 BST. Please ensure you have your details ready before phoning: 

  • The course you would like to study
  • A level result and English language qualification details (i.e. subjects and grades)
  • Depending on the course, they may need GCSE Maths and/or Science grades or equivalent
  • Your UCAS number
  • Your name, email address, DOB, phone number
  • Do you have any disability issues?
  • Were you born in the UK/EU?
  • Have you lived in the UK/EU for the past three years?

<University of Hertfordshire>


At University of Hertfordshire, Postgraduate applications have already closed, however clearing is still open for Undergraduate students.
