EU students' access to student loans vs Brexit

European students (EU) are worried about the fact that Brexit is happening, which will eventually affect their way to study in the UK. After the long and hard break-up between the EU and the UK, Brexit is making its way to change The UK's higher education is also facing the hard fact that its attraction towards EU and non-EU students is decreasing because of the potential of Strict visa and immigration policies.

No change in laws until 2021

Good news! There will be no changes in terms of immigration rules toward EU students until 2021, according to  UK government website .

·        EU students are still eligible for financial support when they apply to study at any English universities or college. This financial support is tuition fee loan which can go up to £9250 for a full-time course and £6935 for a part-time course. This loan will be paid directly to your course providers who are English Universities or Colleges.

·        EU students who have lived in the UK for at least 5 years prior to the first day of the first academic year of your courses have access to maintenance loan. This means you can apply for finance to cover your living costs during your study. 1 September, 1 January, 1 April or 1 July. Contact us to find out more information: international@ukec.com

How to apply for student finance
